She is a lifelong resident of Battle Creek and knows the area very well with lots of familiar faces seen throughout town. She has an energetic son, Noah who takes up a good amount of her free time, but she does enjoy crocheting and working up designs on her Cricut to scrapbook.

Shelby and Nate's daughter Isla was born with Spina Bifida and they are regular advocates of the Spina Bifida Association to help children with special needs lead productive and fulfilling lives. Shelby prides herself on taking a special interest in children and their future.
